Look on page 2 and deeper for SERP’s. When you find a site click on it, to view the page. Then right click to “view page source” and see if they have their tags proper. If this is blank, then this is a potential candidate.
You would simple perform keyword research for their target market, creating geo tags, keywords, description and title tags for the client to be indexed properly in the search engines.

2. Upgrade their website
If you know web design this will be a no brainier for you however let me share a secret with you…even if you don’t know web design you can offer to redesign a client’s site.

You just figure out what it is they want and check either guru.com, elance.com and places like that and get some bids on web design service and add your fee on top of that and present to your client. You’ll want to make sure you are getting a good rate to be able to use this strategy effectively.

3. Email list management
This strategy is so overlooked and one of the easiest things you can do to create an income. Most local businesses have no clue the importance of maintaining an email database so they don’t do it. You can educate the client of why it’s important and offer to maintain the database for them even sending out newsletters and coupons on their behalf.

You charge them a set up fee and then monthly maintenance fee. Setting this up is very simple just use one of the major auto responder companies and create their opting box to add to their websites and you do is maintain their database for them and send out periodic emails.
